I’ve been developing in a past, and in Java I used try / catch for exception handling and finally for cleanup. But in C#, I don’t know if I should use finally in my code and I don’t know if I should catch exceptions with a try / catch block, or… I don’t know… does it vary from platform to platform?
Can anyone tell me what is the best practice regarding this?

It is better to use try/catch. Always. When you ignore an unhandled exception you will break the program, so it is better to find out the exception in the early stage.
