it’s a simple story, but the execution of the story is done perfectly. bhoot and friends does not only tell a story, but it also makes you laugh. although, for most of the story, there is a lot of crying going on. after all, the kids’ principal is being chased by a ghost-like entity. and the kids are very scared. one of the film’s highlights is when a kid says, ‘bhoot, who are you?’ and bhoot replies, ‘bhoot, who are you?’

there is a bunch of funny things going on in the film, including two funny shorts [one is a montage and the other is a short film with jackie shroff in it] and some extremely great live action sequences. the stop-motion animation of the kids is also very well done. however, since a lot of the sequence is on the kids, there is a lot of crying going on. for most of the sequence, the kids are in complete fear, and it’s apparent when they are in the situation that they find themselves in. this is the only drawback of bhoot and friends. the kids are shown in the situation that they are in, which is to say that they are scared and are on the verge of being killed by the bhoot. the kids also think the bhoot is there to get them, rather than the other way around. and so, while they do show a lot of fear, there isn’t any development in their character development. even though the kids are in complete fear, they are still children who crave for freedom. the only time they show this is when they are shown playing around in the jungle and the way they laugh. however, at that point, they are no longer scared of the bhoot or the possibility of being killed by the bhoot.

after this movie, i am more convinced that the makers should make a movie on super heroes [with ‘bacchus’ khanna, ‘nargis’ or ‘dev anand’ as a super hero] with a story of a kid with magical powers and teaches him how to save the world.
this movie is made on a small budget but the way it is presented is quite impressive. the makers have shown a lot of respect to the indian audience by ignoring the ‘kollywood’ clichd stunts. there is not a single stunt in the movie which you have seen in any other movies.
the movie is a family entertainer, which is made for the kids, but it has got two or three good songs and some action-packed comedy scenes. in fact, it has all things in it which every kid would like. the kids are seen doing a lot of funny things [like throwing rocks, drawing on walls, jumping over cars, saving people from the villain, finding a lost treasure, etc.] which make the movie more interesting.
