A super-amazing program for photographers, and probably the best casual digital slider out there. The UI is so simple, but the power behind the scenes is astounding—I have photomerge running all the time in the background so I can do quick, seamless transitions all day. Note that it does not have high speed layers like many others for this project. The rendering of smart objects, however, is outstanding and I have no other program. No matter what you are trying to shoot or design, Lightroom is the perfect tool for the job—it just is.

Excellent review of my favourite lightroom software. I just have one tiny little complaint and that is an updated version filed to Lightroom Creative Cloud.
In my opinion the previous version was perfect and the discussions about the changes to creative cloud (one of the biggest drawbacks) removed any reason for me to update to lightroom. The points made to improve performance are not really noticeable on my timeline performance but I could be wrong.
I hope that the next version of lightroom is still on par after the migration to creative cloud once and for all. I *really* dislike the new cloud storage etc. It was perfect to always be able to download all my files so I would never have to worry about overage fees on my 1TB
