i first tried restarting my phone, rebooting the phone, clearing app data and then restarting again. all this did was lead to app crashing. at that point, i tried to use an ad free version of the app (even though the ad free version has ads). i even switched to the 2.3.3 android sdk to make sure i wasnt using an old version of the app. i was unable to open any files from either folder. i then asked matt if he could test the same steps and he could open the app with music files that i brought into the app from a pc.
i have replied to matt to let him know of the problem and that i would like to work with him on a solution so that the app and his ad free version can be made compatible. if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
i will be interested to find out what the developer is working on to make his application work on gingerbread. the app is basically ready to go. the ads have been removed, and the music player has been improved. i wish there was a free version available. i havent had a chance to test the paid version.
every time you have any kind of file that you need to get to another program, or otherwise, youre going to have to open it up and see if that program will recognize it or not. getting your music files into your itunes or whatever can be a challenge, as you need to go into each and every folder and find the right place for the song. even if you have all the songs organized in a convenient folder, you still need to open the folder and make sure that the songs appear in the itunes player. lets face it, it doesnt take long for us to forget where we put that song or album, especially if we dont use that folder very often.
anyway, the point is that if its going to a folder for organization, its going to be really handy if we can get it to read out of that folder as easily as we can put it there in the first place, instead of having to dig it out.
