Proggy for macOS is good for installing roms for classic hardware. Works great, can install any games using PowerISO. Just download here ( http://www.proggy.com/sites/default/files/Proggy4mac.zip ), and extract it in your MAC home folder. Youll probably want to create a folder for mame, so put it into applications.

Catakig is a one click installer that works with MAME. Put neogeo.zip in the rom folder and MAME will automatically detect the ROMs. Its free and it works fine but its a bit confusing, since you have to set your mac to boot off of thumbdrives using the startup disk utility. The following roms can be installed from the gtkam gui. In order to have them work in my case I had to delete a folder named PGS that hid the scripts. I also unzipped the selected rom to move it to my desktop, and then I opened File > Open.run to the desktop and made sure it was using the PGS. I don’t know if this is necessary but its up to you.

If you dont want to delete the files that you can just check them. If they are read only then move them to the trash. If not, move them to trash. After this you can go to the Directory of the ROMs, select all and hit the trash icon to remove them. Or if you prefer move them into a new folder to keep them separate. This, I think, will fix the issue for you.

I found the files causing the problem. They were hidden and I needed to find a command to show my hidden files. Saving the configuration created an.ini file for each of the ROMs. Those were causing the crash. I put them in the trash now all the roms work. Not sure why the save configuration causes the problem but that is for another day. Thanks
