it’s a shame that the pc-12 from carenado is only in a single turbine form so if you do decide to buy this be prepared to run around 320kg maximum for it, with a smaller aircraft you can get away with much much less. the power on this is excellent, as is the low wing loading and flying qualities, on this carenado version i found it best to run it at 190kts but above that and the feel of the aircraft goes off scale with the rest of the family, again like most single turbine aircraft it is not forgiving of bad pilot’s really.

the one down point is that it is a swiss aircraft and not a us model which is pretty common with european aircraft, the testing and approval does not mean anything and a us model will be similar if not better. and for anyone who is expecting great quality as per the stma (shade tree micro aviation) that is probably a mistake as while the basic mould and structure is the same carenado just added their own unique touches to the cabin and all the exterior giving this great, modern design that is of course accompanied by this excellent cabin look.

it is basically the pilatus pc-12v with new engines that i found it best to run at 187kts to get the best feeling of this power and the 718nm performance. it is a little heavier than the us version but once you learn the plane it flies great. the power is fantastic and the performance ratio is even better in x-plane 11 and the fantastic all glass cockpit is x-plane 11 as well with all the added features and functions.

thranda design added a huge number of extra features and it isn’t possible to cover them all here, but i will point out the key ones, and where there is need to add something specific to a x-plane installation then i will cover that too.

In X-Plane 11 the camera has a dual function, it is a vector view, which you can view the pilot view in 2D or full 3D, so you can see any area of the cockpit, but only the pilot, and you can select to view the side, top or bottom camera. This is great.
The last three sections are for me the highlights of X-Plane 11. First off, the tower flying is great, or check the pit flying, for me that’s the best in the first release of the simulator. I’m looking forward to get the FSX from PBR and look into that.

In X-Plane, the PC-12 is a high level of detail 4K ultra high fidelity detail aircraft in an ultra light weight package. If you’re a X-Plane gamer looking for a new aircraft to fly, it’s a good place to start!
Since I don’t own a high level of current integrated flight simulation such as FSX, the only way I could handle flying this PC-12 was in X-Plane. It’s the first time I have flown an aircraft using all the latest features of X-Plane 11.
Third, take-off, which includes the use of “side-stick thrust” which makes take-off smooth. I was apprehensive at first, but in the end, I got very used to the new take-off that X-Plane uses, which is a big plus for take-offs. This is easy to clear the ground while staying in a straight line.
Fifth, the airplane. This X-Plane 11 is very nice. With this detailed model, theres a lot to do. If you enjoy flying a sport glider, I think you’ll enjoy the PC-12. You can’t beat the price either, especially as it’s a custom model! It’s about half the weight of other PC-12 models.
