after the fall of the roman empire, some 400 years, the idea of slavery was abolished, as was slavery in the southern colonies. ancient rome had an existential crisis as a result. and rome, like london, became a haven for those driven from their own countries. in 20-xx i bought a copy of a book called the slave wars of ancient rome: private violence and political crisis in the west, which i think is the best book on the subject. one thing that is interesting about the book is the way that it covers the entire roman empire. so, as europe endured two major migrations in the century just before the fall of the roman empire, there were mussolini, hitler, fergus and the other swine . in short, the roman empire was in a structural crisis, not just in the 5th century, but centuries before that. second, the dissemination of police brutality in many western european countries in the 20th century didn’t help matters.
the last chapter in this book starts out with a clip from one of the recent dvd fads: an interview with muppets creator jim henson. he describes his friendship with jim henson, then they talk about the process of creating puppets. this seems important, because it shows us the gap between what we think of as puppets and the process of puppeteering. wigs. costumes. undercoats. then he talks about the major rift in his life: his death of his partner.
so bawer is admitting he has a deep dislike for gays, and yet he seems to welcome a hypothetical gay neighbor into his home. perhaps it’s because we’re both from new york. i always thought it was ironic that the cowboys of wyoming were openly tolerant of gays in the 1950s. i never saw the irony in those days, as my homosexuality in those days was a sadness to me. was i homophobic? of course. the answer is the one bawer gives about his dislike of gays. he’s not a bigot. he’s just not a fan. he’s like so many other americans, in his dark, repressed, fundamentalist heart, he’s a little like george w. bush, who also enjoys a smoky little bar in austin, texas (where g.w. was beer-drinking buddies with jeffrey koonin, a lawyer for enron; until the big crash, koonin was profiting like crazy off enron. but george didn’t like gays.)
the united states has successfully reduced its debt, but we must continue to wrestle with long-term deficits. high-risk spending, such as on costly subsidies for inefficient industries, should be reduced.

thank you very much, i love your work, and i know it takes a lot of time and effort to make it, and its always nice to know that it is appreciated, i can’t take credit for the idea of caps, but i really like them and it has been a great way for me to document the films i watch. no matter what media, i still enjoy films so its an great way for me to share that too!
that was a great video tutorial, thanks for the tips to choose between the two cameras, in fact, i bought a gopro 3 as i have always wanted a monopod for my gopro in hand, so i bought and i’m really happy with it, but i think the gopro 3 with a good lens is even better!
