A total of 331 patients were interviewed; 99.4% of them were on ART. The percentage of adherence was 96.6%. The non-adherence was associated with no self-efficacy in this decision (odds ratio [OR] = 1.08, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.02-1.13). The decision tree showed that this lack of self-efficacy was the determining factor in this relationship. The rate of adherence to ART in HIV-infected patients was greater than in other groups of patients in which research was carried out. A limitation of this study is the absence of a control group.
