What’s New in AutoCAD 2017?

If you are familiar with earlier versions of AutoCAD, it can be difficult to determine if you have all the features of AutoCAD 2017. Let’s start by reviewing the major changes made to AutoCAD 2017 since the release of AutoCAD 2016.

In AutoCAD 2017, the 2D drawing system was completely rewritten. This was necessary to improve performance and expand the features of 2D drawing. The 2D drawing system is easier to use with new tools, as well as more compatible with 3D modeling.

The list of new features in AutoCAD 2017 is extensive. These new features are included in the Add-in module. It is recommended that you review the new features in AutoCAD 2017 before beginning to learn AutoCAD 2017.

At the end of 2011, Autodesk had total annual revenue of $6.3 billion and employed over 30,000 people.

Autodesk has been criticized for creating a lack of transparency into its business. In 2009, the company hired accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers to conduct an annual review of its business, in an effort to better understand Autodesk’s operations.

Awards and honors

Autodesk received the 2009 Stevie Award for “small company of the year” and “best customer support” for the CAD software category. The company received the award for overall customer satisfaction in the “Best Large Company” category at the 2009 Computerworld Honors. In the 2012 Autodesk “Visionary of the Year” awards, Autodesk received the “Highest Change Maker” award in the “Product, Services and Solutions” category, which recognizes companies that have made the most significant change in the industries they operate in over the last year.

How can I do a test for an attribute of a WordPress post?

I can get the title of the blog post using $my_post->post_title;
But I’m having trouble figuring out how to look for the attribute.

Graphical Layer Previews:

The AutoCAD Graphical Layer Preview feature is being reworked to more accurately represent the capabilities of its core technology and deliver a more coherent experience for end users. (video: 3:13 min.)

With AutoCAD 2020, the Graphical Layer Preview is very limited and does not offer many of the features available in other CAD applications. AutoCAD 2023 will have a new Graphical Layer Preview that represents the capabilities of AutoCAD Core technology more accurately and offer a better experience for end users.

While the Graphical Layer Preview is not finished, we will be sharing some early screenshots soon.

You will be able to see these capabilities in the 2017 AutoCAD product version when the Graphical Layer Preview is complete. We encourage all current users to install the 2017 product so that you can see the new Graphical Layer Preview for yourself.

Render Mode for Drafting:

Viewing Drafts in Screenspace allows you to easily compare one drawing view to another or even to print the drawing for display. You can also print and export the drawing in different screen sizes, such as letter or A3 format. You can see this feature in action in this video:

To start drawing in Drafts mode, right-click on a block and choose the Drafts command.

At this time, Drafts is only supported for the left-hand side of the screen, similar to the traditional Drafts mode.
