Is it a good idea to share a redis cache in S3 between multiple AWS/EBS backed EC2 instances running a single Application stack?

We have a python Flask app running on multiple AWS/EBS EC2 instances using the same custom AMI. Each instance accesses a shared redis cache across all instances.
S3 is used as the backend for the redis cache which is pushed to a group of S3 buckets. Instance-A would like to access instance-B’s cache. Instance-B does not want to share its cache with instance-A. Is there a feasible way of achieving this?
We have tried the following:
